Applying complex systems dynamics to internet crowd control

Lanny, as you have acknowledged since the very inception of this website, top down control is futile. You have what is ostensibly a "free speech" forum (overrated tbh but respectable). That's what the DNA of the community is and it has never ever worked.

Instead these little forum power structures have been an exceptional case study in why a hands off, decentralised approach was needed, where the admin instead plays policy czar from a detached position. Most of this you've created (likely for other, less retarded reasons than the one I'd give you) but I don't think you have given your role a systems approach yet.

Let me show you de wey.

I think I agree with your post? Other than the part where you say the "DNA of the community (has) never ever worked", because it worked just fine on Totse for 20 years.

Wanna know why it worked? Because of your second point, ironically. Because Jeff was more involved with keeping the site online than being buddies with everyone.

It never worked, mods have always been a shit storm catalyst. The reality is that there is no real authority in these structures, just control. Instead a system is needed where authority is currency and control is irrelevant. Totse worked for a completely different reason, which was that JH had both authority and control. Because people actually liked Jeff, as much as they hated him.

It would be cool if Lanny took bribes. I think that would solve all of these issues

He does. Just be a pretty girl. You don't even have to give him anything. Just ask Lucy to ask him for what you want.

So... What exactly are you even recommending here?

What's the difference between authority and control?

I will equip Lanny to make admin decisions from a systems theoretic way that appropriately addresses problems rather than fixing symptoms.

Infantcock handling was a good case study for how Lanny doesn't know how to handle the types of retards that this community is inherently attractive to.
