Also the jury doesn't decide punishment. Nor do they interpret the law. They simply look at the charges and determine whether or not the person was guilty or not based on the evidence. There is a mediator in the room who makes sure they're being objective and not just making up whatever bullshit they want. And it has to be a unanimous decision.
It's basically just to ensure there isn't one dude handing down justice who may have a bias against you for whatever reason
A judge is way better. They're more objective. Also the philosophy here is rehabilitation not punishment so all the judges look at cases through that lens. -

Here minor matters are decided on by a judge. Your lawyer can make legal arguments to help your case, but it is the job of the judge to interpret the law and to see in what way it was broken, if it was, and to decide on the appropriate punishment. Which there are guidelines for. A major matter is decided upon by three judges, and they must all agree on their interpretation of the law before they can sentence you.
actually no, the flaw lies not in the jury system, but rather it lies in the way juries are selected.
defendents are supposed to be juried by his peers, that is to say if the defendent is a black man, then he should be juried by 12 niggers of similar backgrounds.
as should a person who are being accused of child mollestation be juried by a dozen other child mollestors.
jury selection is the problem, not jury system. -

If i ever move to America and get called for jury duty for a statutory rape charge, i'll jury nullify for a mistrial, i'll take the perjury charges. After lying about having no personal conviction that might influence my judgement. -

Right but they don't give you a perjury charge for it lol. You can literally just tell them that you are an anarchist and don't believe in the legal system. Hell, you JUST stated you think that juries are unfair. You could just say that and they'll only sigh and tell you to go home.
They do have that sheet but if you write that you believe in jury nullification on it they will simply excuse you from being a juror. You would have to lie about it on the form, THEN go in and purposely fuck things up to get charged. Otherwise you can get excused for just about anything.
They're not going to do a mistrial just because you wrote something on a form. They'll just find someone else. You're supposed to send it in like a week before the court date. -

That was the plan though. And fine, if i'll just be excused as a juror, i will stubbornly maintain the person's innocence even though all the other jurors say the person is guilty. That should cause a mistrial for sure. -

Actually here in the states we do it by BMI. So if you were the only one claiming the defendant was innocent, they would check everyone's BMI and go with the decision of whoever's is highest. Sorry, no mistrial for you. -
