I think it does matter. 100,000 people dying is a lot less than 3 million people dying. And that number would probably go up once the hospitals really are overloaded. We say there’s a 1% death rate but that’s with proper medical treatment. In Italy it’s like 12% -

They have to update the numbers based on how many people take social distancing seriously. If we did absolutely nothing and just carried on like normal there would indisputably be millions of deaths.

Not true at all. Social distancing was already included as a mathematical factor in the models. They already took it into account, and those were the numbers they got. Nice try, though.
