Emily Jones was randomly attacked by a knife-wielding woman at Queen's Park in Bolton on Sunday.

She died a short time later, Greater Manchester Police said.

A 30-year-old woman arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder has been detained at a secure facility under the Mental Health Act.

Why is this minor regional news, when Jamie Bulger or Madeline McCann is major news?

    Anyone like to guess?

If she was a victim of Covid-19 she would have got a shout out.

Plus if it was a chav they would have been arrested.

The mental health act is the go to they use when a suspect is inconveniently raced - "these people aren't evil, they're sick". It also means no trial, so no further publicity.

Sure this was in Bolton. Perpetrator was most likely Asian but they won't disclose that cause it will cause more trouble.

Imagine the coverage there would be if a white male killed a 7 year old black girl who was just playing on her scooter at the park.

It won't be on the nightly news.

Is there some reason you think that it's ok that a murder of a kid just gets buried like this?
