DAE think they have a lot in common?
- incredibly sensitive about geographic names people use, (Southern Ireland / the country of Taiwan)
- eternal victims, and are taught a revisionist history in school to reinforce this
- Both the victim of self-inflicted famines, but can't admit it (see above)
- Dull people who go half way across the world to work in an Irish bar / Chinese restaurant

All Irelands most famous scientists are Anglo-Irish or Ulster Scots. All Chinas most famous scientists had to go to America to accomplish anything.

Both claim to have rich, ancient cultures. But almost none of them speak the same language their ancestors spoke 200 years ago.

Ireland and England are kinda like China and Japan.
But the Irish are smarter than the English, as the English have forgotten so much. Irish history isn't less fucked than English history, but the Anglos have a culture where complaining or showing weakness or vulnerability is bad.
As a result you can do whatever you want to them, and they don't even squeak.

The only people ive ever had a problem with is the Guatemalan's. Their so short that i have bend over to talk hear what their saying and even then i say "Do whut?" Several times.
I explained it to him and he got low-key pissed and called the owner.
But ive worked with several Guatemalans. And i tell which one my tan brothers is Guatemalan. Because they look even more like umpaloompas more than mexicans.
I rather go work with pollacks in a kitchen than Guatemalans

A foundational myth is really good to tie a country together. For Texas it was the Alamo, when some Texans fought to the death against Santa Anna's Mehicans. For China it's the Long March, for Ireland it's the Easter Rising/the Górta Mór, for France the revolution, for Israel it's the destruction of the temple/the hall of cost (6 million, a number with occult significance), for Russia it's WW2, etc.
But countries like Japan or New Zealand and England don't really have anything like that, despite their history being full of tragedies. It's something I find kind of weird.
