I am sick of working for other people

I quit my job in February because I felt like I wasn't going anywhere. I've been job hunting since then. I've turned down some places, others have turned me down. But I am 100% certain I am not going to get a job that's any better than the one I just left.

Fuck my countries shitty tech companies, fuck recruiters and fuck wage slaving. Have you used blah blah version blah before? Tell me about a time you blah blah, here at our open office plan zero benefit company we have hundreds of micro services to display pictures of motor homes, it's quire impressive. No fuck you and your shitty over engineering and your mediocre salaries and your corporate cringe.

I have about 6 more months left or emergency savings before I have to dip into investments. Do I just say 'fuck it' and go balls deep into getting my own clients and customers?

Why are you job hunting if you are tired of working for other people?

Self employment involves being your own salesman, accountant, office manager, manager and worker. You have the taxes, the costing, the office space, securing the clients, making sure the work is done, getting payment from clients, etc.

It's a brutal lifestyle. I always wound up feeling kind of sorry for my bosses, as much a cunts as they were to me, they were even worse to themselves, and had constant problems and headaches.

Do you have the drive to run yourself into the ground for shekels? If so, go for it. If not, let someone else worry about having the money ready to pay you with at the end of every month.

And yes, in business you frequently have to worry about just making payroll.

After I quit my last job I had convinced myself the grass was greener on the other side, and I would find an awesome company.

    I was wrong.

Seriously there is a lot you can do on your own. Go door to door and offer to cut grass and wash cars. I would pay you right now to do both.

    - Will absolutely have to become a part time sales fag to get clients. Been researching this a lot.
    - Tax is not that hard here. If it's a real PITA I'll pay someone to do it
    - What the hell do I need an office for?
    - Making sure I get paid is something I need a solid plan on

Absolutely willing to run myself into the ground for shekels. It's all I care about. 40 hours a week working for someone else is exhausting, not the work itself but every waking hour is spent stressing because I am going absolutely nowhere and can do nothing to improve my position. Life is short and I'm done.

No he said he doesn’t wanna work for someone else. Not start over from the beginning in a completely different, lower paying field. Mowing peoples’ lawns at his age would be even more degrading than having a dick boss I would think.

Also for future reference, rabbitweed is a dude, you can just say he

I'm in my 30s. I'm a code monkey but I am damn good at talking to normal people and implementing what they want, which is another reason why I want to break out on my own.

I used to cut grass as a kid and one of the guys I cut grass with wound up doing landscaping for new hotels in vegas, you know, putting $1000 palm trees in.

I used to do surveys of all sorts ranging from political to car to entertainment but one night I called into the east coast and got ahold of an angry DA that was demanding my name and eventually I just hung up on him but man he was mad

I voted for the self-employed angle, but not necessarily because I think it's the option most likely to succeed, but rather because it would be my own personal preference.

There's an element of risk (competition), and a somewhat substantial learning curve (the sales/marketing angle), to going freelance.

It might be worth considering aiming for both... Wage slave as a safety net until the clients start flowing in consistently.
