He was implying the US created the virus as a bio weapon to use against China.

This would be useless as a bio weapon. A weaponized pathogen is meant to be highly targeted. The only way this thing is really a weapon is if the Chinese were working on it and it broke containment before it was finished. Highly unlikely, but possible

Ultraviolet radiation inactivates the virus. If u get infected, proceed to sunbathe.

It's a global economy and people travel all over the world so I think we would have known it would have spread from China, no?

That’s not how it works moron. Stop spreading misinformation.

UV is used as a disinfectant for all kind of pathogens. But once it’s entered your body it’s useless. It’s like if you bathed in rubbing alcohol

there are 5 known strains of the virus, the US is the only place where all 5 strains have been detected... meaning it's likely it either originated in the US or there's something unique there causing it to rapidly mutate

We have a lot of international travel too. It seems more likely that it mutated in all these other random places and these fags keep bringing the newest one here.

Also, you know I had to ask, source?

I’m reading the paper now, the five “strains” they’re referring to aren’t multiple mutations of the new SARS-Cov-2, the other four are the other previously known human-transmissible betacoronaviruses (MERS, SARS, etc.)

Before December 2019, four species/strains of Betacoronavirus, HKU1, MERS-CoV, OC43 and SARS-CoV, had been reported to cause severe human diseases (Cui et al., 2019). The fifth species/strain, a novel betacoronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (Gorbalenya et al., 2020) causing human pneumonia (i.e. COVID-19), was first reported in Wuhan, Hubei, Central China (Wu et al., 2020a; Zhou et al., 2020; Zhu et al., 2020).
