Some patients who recovered from Covid-19 have suffered reduced lung function and now experience problems such as gasping for air when walking quickly, Hong Kong’s Hospital Authority has revealed.
The authority released its findings on Thursday after observing the first group of discharged coronavirus patients.
The city has so far recorded 131 confirmed cases of Covid-19, including three fatalities. Of them, 74 patients have been discharged while one probable coronavirus case has also recovered.
Dr Owen Tsang Tak-yin, medical director of the authority’s Infectious Disease Centre at Princess Margaret Hospital in Kwai Chung, said doctors had already seen around a dozen discharged patients in follow-up appointments. Two to three were unable to do things as they had in the past.

Well don't you you think its normal to have some lingering effects in the respiratory system from an infection that affects the respiratory system?

Not to this extent, no. It reminds me of this meth head I know with HIV. I went for a walk up a hill with him once, and he started wheezing real bad, couldn't walk up the entire hill.

Pretty sad. Strangely though is viral count is almost always low, despite meth having a tendency to enhance viral count in the blood. The meth fucked his lungs though, along with cigarettes.

I'm a healthy, sexy person but it took me 4 weeks to get rid of a cough that came with my flu/or cold or whatever I had back in Dec.

    You're reaching with this one.

Nah, these people weren't taking 4 weeks to get rid of a cough, read between the lines. They were supposedly fully recovered, no more cough, no other symptoms, just a diminished blood oxygen level due to scarring of the lungs. It's related to spanish flu and I posted another thread on this. The autopsies in china showed massive lung damage....

That lung damage also makes them more like an HIV victim, as it also fucks up the immune system.

I wouldn't normally give them advice if they didn't ask for it. I swear a lot, say nigger, spic, faggot, queer, all kinds of mean stuff, but the same people who could be offended, know that my advice is good, and that I generally/genuinely want to help.

Try reading a little less between the lines and read the actual lines.

You have severe ADHD. Too bad it wasn't autism because this might be easier to explain. People have died, what they have in common with the people who have supposedly "recovered" is severe lung damage.

Is that a bit easier? One or two sentences at a time?

Yes, I know this is a tough concept for you to wrap your head around, but after people recover from a respiratory illness, there is sometimes scarring of the lung tissue. The difference here is that certain viruses, including this one, are much more likely to result in lung damage.

Right. And since breathing involes our assholes and not our lungs its completely unreasonable that ppl are having difficulties breathing.

Thanks for explaining it to me. It's clearer now.
