The value of all the wealth currently held by Americans is around $98 trillion. That means anything and everything of value currently under private ownership. That means your prized collection of what ever you prize, your cars, your house, your clothing...everything. Bernie wants to spend it all in ten years so everyone can have free everything. How do you dems like your front runner now?

Even though I'm independent I typically lean moderate left, I'm not happy about Bernie being the front runner namely because of his medicare for all plan. I currently have fantastic insurance which I don't want messed with.

If you made $5,000 every single day, and worked every single day for 500 years, you would still not have as much money as Jeff Bezos - you wouldn't even have 1 billion.

Jeff Bezos must work a lot harder than you.

No but his employees do. It’s labor by proxy

The funny thing is I’m also in that demographic and would also like to have free shit, but I’m just not stupid enough to believe that’s sustainable.

I think eventually society will evolve to where technology basically automates everything and we’ll need almost no workers. Even jobs most people believe today can never be automated like heathcare, or education, will probably be replaced with artificial intelligence. Then yeah people can get free stuff.

But this likely wouldn’t happen for hundreds of years, if at all. We are not there yet

I don't think that's a real thing, if wealth is actually a representation of human labour his employees are just forced to give up most of the wealth their human labour generates to him.

Yes that’s exactly what it is

The bottom line is wealth = labor. SOMEONE worked for that money, those that did just don’t receive wealth commensurate with how much labor they put in. Someone else gets the rest

Socialism is always a big "success", until they run out of other people's money.

I see, you mistakenly thought I was serious with my comment about how Jeff Bezos must work a lot harder than others.
