Has anyone seen it? If so give a review. I don't do theaters as a rule but I am considering going to this.

Enjoyed it thoroughly. I had low expectations. Seemed bland. In the end it's just a sad story.

Go see it. I don't really either but I saw this one and it's fantastic. This is definitely a movie meant to be seen in theaters.

Me too. I was very unimpressed with the trailers, I thought it looked dull and boring but some people wanted me to come see it and I'm glad they did cos otherwise I would've missed it.

Ya it's not every day a movie gets 8.5 on IMDB.

There is nothing happy about war. Was it well produced? How was the cinematography? Acting? Character development? Did they keep it free of the obligatory Hollywood love interests in the middle of hell?

    In order
Very, imo, except for one scene near the end that was touching but dumb as shit.
It was edited well enough to make it seem like it was shot in one camera roll, honestly really good to see every moment of their journey with no skips to it, or seemingly so.
Can't fault the acting in any way aside from the aforementioned dumb scene.
Characters do develop but it's over a very short amount of time so only as much as they can
    No love interests.

That's right, I remember reading something about them trying to shoot it all in one go as much as possible. I had forgotten about that.

It really does seem like it is and if I didn't know better I'd say it was, makes it feel quite personal instead of constantly cutting to the next place.

I may go see it while I am in Vegas. They have a bad ass theater there with cocktail service at your table.

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country Dark Matter [my scoffingly uncritical tinning]
When the BR Rip comes out I'll watch it.

The only thing I have heard against it was the amount of diverse soldiers (meaning nogs) inserted into it.

Yes, some nogs fought in WW1, especially for France, but not that many. It was mostly a white on white slaughter, where you couldn't tell either side apart.

And the jedi soldiers all stayed in the rear and did the paperwork.

They Shall Not Grow Old was very sad.

I really feel like preventing another European war is our number one priority going forward.

This thread is about the movie not your fucked up world views and twisted slant on history. Please go make a thread for that elsewhere.

There was like one turban guy in it. Which caused a shitstorm. Would've been a bigger shitstorm if there wasn't any turban guy in the movie.

This is about the movie 1917. Not a place for you to showcase your ignorance of history. Wilson was president in 1917 not FDR. So shut up and take your shit out of here.

    Deep understanding of history demonstrated.
Wow, so deep. If only one had been over the other, history would have been white as fuck.
