   Got my hands on a cheap stack of Asimovs, anyone got a personal favourite or recommended starter?

   The robot series will always be near and dear to my heart, Dawn of the Robots, The Rest of the Robots, and I, Robot. The continuity is very weak so you can read them in any order.
   
   Caves of Steel and The Gods Themselves are probably the most highly regarded of his stuff in general.
   
   If you like epic (as in long) scifi with an actual continuity you can start into the foundation series. It's not my favorite work by Asimov but people who enjoy long runners definitely get something out of it.
