Mint Mobile says my phone is 2G and not supported....

I have an LG G8x Thinq and it has been having connection issues when using data.
Lately I keep getting e-mails that Mint Mobile is rolling out 5g and that my phone won't be supported because their service will only be 4g and 5g after July 1st.
The manufacturer website says my phone is a 4g phone and the Mint Mobile customer service says my phone is a 2G phone and that I need to buy a new one.
I find it extremely unlikely that a phone built in December 2019 would even only be 2G compatible.
Their service generally sucks and always has but this is starting to sound like a fucking gimmick to get me to pay for a new phone.
I regularly connect to 4G LTE manually so I'm really annoyed that the customer service bitch is telling me that my phone is not compatible.
I've been googling and have found several articles from people with my same problem some of whom seemingly managed to jump through a bunch of hoops to get theirs to work but right now I'm mostly just pissed off.
I just payed for an entire years worth of service and I asked for a refund and was told that wasn't an option.

They're lying, or they don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. The LG G8x Thinq is 3G/4G capable. It was never 2G.

3G was shut down though recently wasn't it?

"T-Mobile has pushed its 3G shutdown to July 1, 2022"

All of the major US 3G networks are scheduled to shut down in 2022. Whether you're with AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon, this may affect your phone, your home alarm system, or even your car.

The "WCDMA / LTE auto" setting switches to 4G on the LG G8x Thinq. However, ISPs in the USA are currently phasing out 4G completely for 5G.

You have to go into settings and networks and change the type of Generation tower connectivity

I called customer service back and another person told me my phone is partially locked with Sprint.
Have I really been using a handicapped phone for 2 years now?
This would explain why it takes forever to call even 911 sometimes.

I live in a decent sized city of idk... 1/2 million and our police department still relies on a fucking teletype machine to run criminal records.
Found out when a cop checked me for warrants and it took 25 minutes to come back with a result.
He even showed me the old dinosaur ass machine when he booked me into jail.

So absolutely fucking no we DO NOT have 5G or sex robots yet and its all because the millions and millions of dollaroos the police get each year go toward anything but what it's meant for.

    Fuck the police.
    Defund the POLICE.
