GPUs are being fucked by the silicon shortage really hard right now. However CPUs are better and cheaper than ever.
How feasible would it be for game developers to start offloading more work to CPUs? I ran some of my most intensive game benchmarks on my 12400 and it was running at like 8% like a nigger while my GPU did all the work.
How much worse is software rendering these days?

Without really having time to look into it at the moment, my understanding is that it would suck. Apparently GPUs are way faster because they have to do a lot of floating point math to render 3D.
He's the thing though: You don't NEED an OVER 9000Ti to play the latest games, just if you want to view them in 16k.
