Slick was the 'favourite son', but after watching the movie a few times it just seems to me that Slick was just trying too hard to be dark and evil, and Ivan was just purely deranged. The energy he brought when fighting the hobo with his skates was ace, though Slick's 'DO YOU SEE ME' bit just before was actually pretty fucking good too.
IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY FOR A SKATE-RAPE!
The Plague BTFOs everyone though, and they didn't even have a backstory.

Lol I love that film.
"THEY'RE GONNA' MAKE COMIC BOOKS OUTTA' MY HATE CRIMES"

lol after the third time I watched it I noticed that quiet exchange between Abbie and Slick
"people don't mess with you do they" "not if they give a fuck about living" "so how many people have you killed?" "what am I... a fucking mathematician?"

I've been trying to get Sudo to watch it because apparently he was an extra in the film but never actually saw it after release.
Honestly one of my favourite films of all time, not because the story or anything was particularly compelling but goddamn ALL of the villains were in it were amazing and would've been cool each in their own movies. With them all together it's just a perfect storm of insanity.
Drake is like Killian from The Running Man turned up to 11. Slick is an edgy turbosadist, Ivan is like a highschool Jock stereotype who's lost his goddamn mind and The Plague are literal demons in black metal armor. There's no real backstory to them but if you pay attention it's implied by their bulletin board that they've killed Jesus, Joan of Arc, Abraham Lincoln and a bunch of others.
Oh yeah there's also an alternative ending I just found out about where Abbie IS forced to join the plague, is seen being 'reprogrammed' and forced to wear Grinder's armor with a triple shotgun attached to her severed arm

The Drake is fucking badass the actor nailed that part. I think it deserves a lot more credit than being just some cheesey B movie.
