yeah it's absurd; I wonder how much of the population retarded reddit users actually represent. I remember reading somewhere that twitter is a terrible barometer for public opinion because 80% of tweets are made by like 1% of the world's population (10% of the US)

I pretty much only use reddit for the research chem sub, and that sucks now compared to what it was before they banned sourcing.
After the “hate speech” purge last summer I’ve been rather put off from using that site in general.

I just de-activated one of my accounts. The one where I tried to talk about anything at all social political.
These people don't need dialogue, they need decimation.
I will keep my other account which is dedicated to what I call "liberal farming" - ie getting them to solve business and technical problems for me for free (many liberals are quite skilled and talented).

The first time I heard of reddit I went with a friend of mine to sell weed to someone who lived in my friends building. It was a skinny guy with those stupid washer looking stretch things in his ears. We smoked weed and he put reddit up on a projector and we watched videos, some of which were gorey I remember. I remember hearing his girlfriend left him for a woman and they were still living together and the apartment was likely paid for by one of their parents. He gave the "I would suck your dick" vibe and aspired to move to a more liberal and arrogant city. I think he was a barista or possibly worked in a kitchen. I would later find out he is actually 98% of reddit users.
I remember one of the disgruntled tech devs from "The Social Dilemma" said he was addicted to reddit and my mind was blown that could happen.
There used to be good specific subreddits that were troves of useful fringe information they are all ghost towns now. I hate sounding like an old fogey in whose day things were "better" but reddit used to have a marginal use that is now completely defunct. I haven't found anything useful there in forever. I have to admit their model is kinda interesting but now its just funny how they managed to get away with so much
