My girlfriend doesn't understand how electricity works.

2020-10-01 at 11:41 PM UTCWe were talking about running the heater and she said she just wants it on all the time so it doesnt have to turn off and on and off and on running up the electricity bill.
She thinks it costs more to keep clicking on than it does to run.
She told me to just keep it at 72 and don't turn it off.
I was like "ohm kay..." -
2020-10-01 at 11:44 PM UTCwhen I was poor I lived with people who used to turn the toaster off at the wall to "save electricity".
Everyone who wants to use electricity should be forced to learn Ohms law. If they can't figure it out they should have to stick with coal and whale oil. -

ie, ovens/stoves that have an electronics display…televisions with built-in cameras for the MINITRU to monitor…
Right, but this was a toaster.
Push the button down - the circuit closes. -
2020-10-02 at 12:45 AM UTCMy dad once tried to tells me that "they"don't "know" everything about electricity.
I was like well OHM's law pretty much spells it out and then he had the balls to call me stupid,he never even heard of ohms law before I tried to explain it to him.
Never in my life have I understood how people can have the wonder of electricity running through everything and not even have a fucking clue as to how it works.

At an old job of mine a woman tried replace a fluorescent lightbulb tube while the power was on. -
2020-10-02 at 12:56 AM UTCEver hear of the "theory of electricity"? Yes it's still a theory. We just learned how to safely control it.

2020-10-02 at 10:34 AM UTCI mean maybe shes right and you're retarded and the nigger house you live in it's cheaper to keep it on all the time like florescent lights, those take more power to turn on and off vs just leaving them on
