Empty lockers in apartment buildings work good. It's heated, and you can put a lock on from the outside, so nobody can get in.

As a teenager, I often found myself locked out by my parents for staying out partying too late, so I'd find an apartment building where I could get in through the garage or some other weak entry point, then I'd find the locker room and use a pen knife to slowly wedge the lock bolt open, relock the door, go inside and find an empty locker, lay some cardboard and soft material down I could find in the garbage room, go inside, and put a cheap combination lock on the outside by sticking my arm through the locker's grate or wire. In the morning, I'd take the combination lock off and pocket it, put all the cardboard and soft material back in the garbage room, and I'd be on my way.

Most lockers have open tops, too, so you can just climb up the wire netting or wood wall and go inside, if it's in use and locked.
