    How to commit it...for reasons
Dont suppose slipping a bomb under a crawl space where I know a propane tank will be cover enough tracks to make it look like an accident?

    hair gel and potassium permangenate

put equal parts in opposite ends of an envelope and fold the envelope in half so they don't come in contact

when you're ready to bbq unfold the envelope and squeeze them together, put the envelope on some firewood and walk away

you might want to experiment with how much volume to use and how well to mix them because it'll take anywhere between 2-10 minutes or so to ignite

Ask a criminal defense lawyer the best way to do this.

Propane tanks are sturdy. You'll need a serious bomb to make it go boom. Alternatively you make a shaped charged. Picric acid has a good VoD and is easy to make. You just nitrate aspirin basically. Get a cylinder, cap one end off with a steel slab of appropriate size and thickness, the other end needs to have a copper cone with the pointy end facing inward. You fill your cylinder with picric acid, measure the diameter of the cylinder, now take that number and multiply it by six. This is your stand off point, the device needs to be exactly this length away from the thing you're trying to blast a hole in. Picric acid is a funny explosive, not quite primary, not quite secondary. I suggest setting it off with a simple blasting cap made of TATP. Easy to make as well. If you don't have basic training in how to wire shit, the hardest part will be making a timing device, which is actually not very hard at all.

This is all a lot of work easy though it may be, look up Admin's thread on wiring an rPi to a stove or whatever it was, i gave a quick overview on how to rig up an incendiary device in that thread. Thermite is even easier to make, and it should melt right through the propane tank.

The goal of arson should be to make it look like not arson. While this is very good information it would be spotted as arson right off.

Agreed. But OP was talking about a propane tank so i ran with it. I did mention the incendiary device from the other thread, it involves a 'gas leak' so it would appear accidental. To an extent. Best to start the fire near some electrical outlets, the fire department will assume electronics malfunction.

Yup, just loosen the ground wire and wait. But be sure not to leave any fresh tool marks when you loosen it. If you can get a soft rag between the screw and the blade of your screwdriver that will work.

After the 89 Loma Prieta Quake near San Fran.. Houses where going up in flames a week later. Turns out.. Insurance fruad. People couldn't collect on house damaged by quake but they could if the house burned down before the overwhelmed insurance inspectors could view quake damages.

But please don't set fire to people's stuff not yours.. People might be in their stuff
