With all the events going on and all the conspiracy stuff I have read over the past couple of years it's easy to fall for the mindset that everything is going horribly wrong and something apocalyptic like a bunch of crazies creating an end times event could happen.
I would love for the whole antichrist thing to never happen, or a massive genocide of the population or any type of doomsday scenario, but I know these types of things have happened in the past.
You could look at the first two world wars as a genocide, they killed off the majority of the warrior-type population and left humanity as a docile mess.
Am I being paranoid or is it true that this world and society is really so fucked up.
It's easy for me to look at the past two hundred years as being the sum of human history but the reality is that populations and civilizations come and go, the new ones devouring the old repeat x infinity.
When I was a teenager watching futuristic movies or anime or games, the ones that took place in a mostly modern setting but with high technology, I figured that would end up the way things would be, slightly modern (Industrial, western) but with high-technology ..... I never considered in the span of a few decades reality could become so warped.

Some low lying islands in the pacific will disappear, some new beachfront properties will be created along the coasts of the US, some deserts will spread, the middle east will get bloodier, Israel will keep expanding its territories and nobody will stop them, and an EMP attack will take out the US power grid at some point. And maybe some smaller countries nuke eachother. Also a major asteroid impact is mistaken for a nuclear strike and leads to a limited scale nuclear war between major powers before the mistake is realized - one of the greatest tragedies in human history.
