   when I watched the first run through of seinfeld when I was younger I didn't realize how degenerate they were as they were all upper middle class new yorkers. I thought they were just victims of the world until the last episode and I was like "really? they were so bad" but my reference point was a little skewed because of my upbringing as well
   
   also, that guy says "degenerate" and "degeneracy" so much he's immediately discredited

   Honestly, I like the show.
   
   It's not like morally flawed main characters in a sitcom is some kind of rarity.
   
   In fact, I'm pretty sure it's a fairly common staple in comedy-oriented TV shows.
   
   Also, it's not like they're trying to disguise it as wholesome behavior.
   
   The series finale was clearly explicitly meant to show how nihilistic and apathetic they are.
