Hospital puts me back on MAOIs and BOOM

All my f****** memory comes back since April 23rd, down to the last moment of Consciousness I had before slowly growing catatonic and at the same time developing rabdomiolisis from combining monoamine oxidase inhibitors and research chemical stimulants, I remember I ran through the last benzo prescription the rehab gave me in a couple of days. And then frantically trying to find the hook up that my rehab doctor gave me, apparently I lost the reference on the flight or something and told my mom that my rehab doctor had a colleague right where I was living. She didn't f****** believe me because I was already delirious and benzo withdrawal so she haphazardly find me a shity doctor at the last minute who wouldn't even prescribed me benzos. I spent maybe one or two days binge drinking with kava trying to Quantum Leap and beat time by cheating benzo withdrawal but it just wouldn't work. From the 23rd to the 27th I slept, having Mash on Loop through a streaming service. Since I was so f***** up when I woke up I tried to smoke a cigarette outside of my new home and some old lady was yelling at me saying I couldn't smoke on premises because it was a Housing Development. For some reason I thought I was on bundy and I freaked out. Apparently that next day was spent begging my mom for Fenty Beauty and to try to fill my Gabapentin early. Pass out again woke up in the middle of the night with Gabapentin, despite shoveling dozens of those and baclofen so I still couldn't beat the benzo withdrawal. So I saw the doctor on Thursday and got Subs but by Sunday I couldn't remember anything I kept asking my mom to date and the month and that's when my body started to fail. By Tuesday or Wednesday I think I was in the ICU, where I stayed for a few days with rhabdo. I abused the hospitals IV Ativan and one of the doctors realized I was in severe benzo withdrawal. The rhabdo went away with fluids and the benzo withdrawal curbed with a taper.. Now I'm on a general floor

    Maois brought my memory back.

Most of this was audio dictated hopefully if theres nonsense my phone couldnt translate someoke can for me.

General chain of events is right dates might be wrong

Can you help me get my memory back?

I thought MAOIs were like... medically extinct.

Interesting, though, that they would have this memory restorative effect.

I'm pretty sure they exclusively target serotonin receptors (I could be wrong... they're outdated as a prescription so I don't know much about them).

If that's the case, then the mechanism by which it recovers memories once thought to be lost would be a pretty damn fascinating discovery.

It's also possible that simply reducing your GABA-active drug intake has just resulted in you coming out of a bit of a hazy fog you might have been in, ultimately leading to you spending more time actively reminiscing.

So-called "lost memories" (mainly from GABAergic drugs, but also from physical or even psychological trauma) can occasionally be recovered, but it takes very deliberate efforts, and very specific and unlikely scenarios (like walking into a room you blacked out in, but had never been there either before or after said black out event; or having memories triggered by lower-level neurological mechanisms like limbic/emotional, or smell).

I honestly don't even get it... like, at all...

MAOI's, from what I understand, exclusively impact serotonin.

They also, however, interact negatively with like every fucking psychoactive compound in existence.

It's a recipe for serotonin syndrome (extremely serious and potentially fatal).

They are primitive as fuck and totally replaceable with, like, SSRI's, for one thing... and even other 5HT-active drugs like SSNRI's (which also impact norepinephrine), etc.

They are far superior though, and ssnris are worthless. Maois have a very neat moa that sounds very promising

I dunno... To each their own, I guess, as long as they know what they're doing.

But MAOI's also carry tremendous risk.

Risk has to be weighed against reward.

Are the particular mechanism achieved by MAOI's worth the huge potential for, say, serotonin syndrome, for one thing, and even dependency development to the MAOI's themselves?

Also, SSNRI's/SNRI's are not entirely worthless.

Wellbutrin has shown a pretty good track record for specific cases of depression, as well as smoking cessation apparently.

EDIT: Hold up, wellbutrin might not be an SNRI... I dunno. I quit all serotonin based prescriptions altogether.

Ok yeah, I was wrong about wellbutrin. It acts on NE and Dopamine, and also reduces nicotinic activity.

Tramadols SNRI action seems to be kicking my migraines' asses, coupled with the opioid activation. But as far as anxiolysis or antidepressive action, it's worthless.

We've been over this a million times goiium, tramadol has a much higher rate of super-metabolizers than most other prodrugs.

I prefer it to every other opioid, including IV heroin

Pretty sure you know this and are just jealous

Yeah, you obv didn't read what I just fucking wrote.

I have MIGRAINES, and SSRI'S are a first line treatment to prevent against MIGRAINES, so it makes sense that a drug that is both an opioid intended for moderate PAIN, which is caused by my MIGRAINES and NEUROPATHY, and acts as an as SSRI which helps reduce MIGRAINES is obviously a pretty good treatment option for someone who has MIGRAINES.

Jesus fuck, I don't it for fun.
