In the Bible, what is "God"

It's interesting how they talk about God a lot in that book. It's very unusual, lots of old books like the Iliad will talk about different Gods, but not everything is done for the benefit of the one God.

Is it just the shared cultural values of the characters? That doesn't seem 100% realistic to me.

Is the belief in God a form of shared psychosis in the Bible? Like a group of people going completely insane because of their fixation on this one thing? I can't imagine going so crazy over something I can't see, but, with the exception of those sects who decided the end times were coming, it doesn't seem to have worked out too badly for them.

Have you even read Genesis? It explains God in detail and everything significant he has done that's relative to humanity.

The first few books of the old testament describe God's personality, character and explain why humans look and function the way we do.

He's a living being that is too complex and great for us to understand. Humans are made in the image of God which is why we are the most superior lifeform in the universe. God is magnitudes greater than we could ever imagine so I doubt he resembles anything we could even describe in words.

The man in robes with a white beard is the classic 'God' but I imagine his true form is closer to a humanoid star.

Yeah gods pretty awesome when you think on the first day he created the heavens and the earth and then on the second day he just says 'let there be light', and then there was light, just like that. Which means he created those first two in the dark. How fucking awesome is that?

    .

earth and other other rocky planets and proto planets existed long before the nuclear reaction started at the center of the sun.

the sun was until then, just a massive blob of gasses and rocks and ices.

This reminds of the theory that people didn't recognise the colour blue until relatively recently.

Apparently even the Chinese didn't have a word for it.

I do think that the way people think can alter quickly. This is mentally not the same country it was 20 years ago for instance.
