A while ago Elon Musk tweeted "funding secured" to take Tesla private and said something about setting the share values at $420. He said his girlfriend thought it would be funny, and I also thought I remembered him not remembering it becuos he had an Ambien Moment.
Musky claims to work 120 hour work weeks and hasn't taken more than a day off since he had malaria in the early 2000's. His work schedule is layed out in 5 minute blocks & speaking of five, he has 5 children.
He's been stirring up tensions with the shareholders lately, mostly due to his tweet, as well as from accusing a British diver who helped rescue the Thai soccer bois, and also by smoking weed on air with Joe Rogan.
If convicted of a securities fraud charge, Musk will be legally barred from running the company. If not, there's a decent chance shareholders will use this legal spook as an opportunity to oust him anyway, and pick up a less volatile executive.
If Musk gets ousted from Tesla, I don't know if Tesla will still be a company 5 years from now. Whether his influence on the company's viability is actually monumentous or an illusion doesn't matter. The sentiment that Musk can bring the company back from almost nothing into wild profitability because he's Elon Musk is the what can keep Tesla afloat (or insanely profitable). If another executive comes in, the first sign of trouble will most likely snowball the company to bankruptcy.
