Fonaplats Flower Box Restoration Thread

  1. #1
5 years or so ago I was making flower boxes.
I made one (the first one) for my mom and it was really nice.
I used inferior hardware though and one day a chipmunk was in it and my dog jumped in to kll the rodent and demolished the box.
I have left it sitting outside for 5 years without any care to try any prevent it from getting weathered or damaged more.
This is the box the day I finished it.

    This is the box today.

I put it in my garage and have swept the dirt out and tried removing some nails so I can replace them with screws.

I numbered all the peices so I know how to get them back together.

Now it has gotten cold and dark here.
I will have to finish it later.
I hate being manic/depressive. Who knows when or if I will actually get it done. I would like to finish it.

Building something is a great way to sublimate the trials of bipolar disorder. It looks as though you've been working hard, and that's what counts. Keep it up, Fonaplats.

You look like you live in a nice semi-tropical climate. Ask your Mom what she would like to grow.

Don't bother with the crappy flowerbox. Throw it away or burn it. You must be able to grow orchids or other interesting plants there.
