Some say irony is loosely defined, others adhere to a strict application. Where do you fit in?
Here are the uses of irony in the well known song 'Ironic' by Alanis Morissette. As many of you may know it has been criticized for its actual lack of irony, which also has been contested as the actual ironic part about the song. Would a song about irony with all failed attempts at it be ironic? That's for you to decide, and me to judge, because I already KNOW.
Which, if any, do you feel meet the criteria of true irony? There's definitely at least one.

1.An old man turned ninety-eight
He won the lottery and died the next day
2.It's a black fly in your Chardonnay
3.It's a death row pardon two minutes too late
4.It's like rain on your wedding day
5.It's a free ride when you've already paid
6.It's the good advice that you just didn't take
7.Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids good-bye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
"Well, isn't this nice."
8.A traffic jam when you're already late
9.A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
10.It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife
11.It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
