   Actual RT accounts aren't banned, they're just banned from promoting tweets and buying advertising space - though that's likely the next step.
   
   Amusingly, RT has released information indicating that Twitter was trying to upsell them on advertising during the 2016 election - Twitter itself was enouraging them to buy vastly more advertising than they already had:
