I don't watch a lot tv/ netflix but I've heard from a few girls that they like the show 13 reasons why and they were really vague as to what it was about or just said I probably wouldn't like it. My friend (early 20's) hung out the other night and mentioned it and I told her I hadn't seen it so we watched some of it while netflix and chilling and it was kind of irritating because evidently it was a book from a decade ago but I guess they bastardized it because it was poorly acted and only seemed to make suicide look like it was fun and it deals with topics like "online bullying" "slut shaming".
I guess just maybe chalk it up to kids these days and their first world problems, like my daughters mom while not being a teenager, had put up a picture on her failbook.com of her in a thong after she gave birth to show how much she had been working out and to garnish attention from guys because she knew I wouldn't be with her, but basically she was slut shamed and she came over to my place with my daughter and started weeping about how she was slut shamed.
But I'm digressing, but I guess my point is its a show created by selena the beaner gomez, who I already didn't like because of weird looking baby doll head and its obviously meant for the mickey mouse / romper room crowd so they trivialize people with real problems and cry analytical tears while pushing their own agenda about how you shouldn't cyber bully, slut shame, fat shame them.
