Originally posted by MORALLY SUPERIOR BEING 2020 IV: Intravenous Soyposting There are many things that affect the climate, and we can't do anything about most of them, for instance if the sun decides to heat up a little and insolation increases for a few years there is nothing we can do about it besides adjust.
You have figured it out! we have a winner! However that is not the same thing as burning geological amounts of fossil fuels and then shrugging when CO2 starts to rise, as if we couldn't possibly understand how those two things could possibly be linked.
Except they are not linked, just look at the temperature graph again, notice the COOLING trend and tell me they are somehow linked. every warming peak we have had before (before we had fossil fuels) has been hotter than this one. the further you go back in time, the worse they were.
if you are worried about burning too much fossil fuel, which is a reasonable concern, why oh why are you worried about WARMING of all things? -

Its from this page. https://www.globalresearch.ca/climate-science-observations-versus-models/16865
The X axis is 1000 years, it is the global temperature from 2000 BC to 2008 AD.
The same graph from that page, 2000 BC to 1900 AD. -

Originally posted by MORALLY SUPERIOR BEING 2020 IV: Intravenous Soyposting Why would that happen?
We know where the CO2 that is accumulating is coming from - burning oil, coal and gas.
If we keep burning oil, coal and gas at the current rate, CO2 will keep accumulating at the current rate.
Simple cause and effect shouldn't cause anyone this level of mental disturbance.
fucking christ, i ask for the third time:and you didnt answer my question, why didnt temperatures correlate with the increased co2? did you look at the graph i posted? the middle ages warming period was a lot warmer than today.
answer this time. thanks. -

My 10 year prophecy is that CO2 will continue to accumulate.
Maybe you will be right, maybe you wont. remember in 2000 they made apocalyptic predictions for 2020 based on the trend at the time. little did they know that the temperature would stagnate from then on, even drop. for all you know the CO2 will stop accumulating.
and you didnt answer my question, why didnt temperatures correlate with the increased co2? did you look at the graph? the middle ages warming period was a lot warmer than today. Is that hard to understand?
no but anyone would be a fool to believe it. remember the 2020 prediction made in 2000, it was far off course from reality now that we are alive to see 2020. the climate will change (no shit), but who is to say which direction it will change? we have no control of it, is that hard to understand?Just cos Al Gore is a crook and Greta Thurnberg likes shoving herring up her ass doesn't invalidate the simple fact that the chemistry of Earth's atmosphere is changing.
This fact obviously frightens you.
What a genius observation, the climate is changing! yeah, no shit, it always has been. i accept it and also accept that there is nothing i can do about it except adapt. crying about an ice age wont help me stay warm in it, nor will crying about the current interglacial period keep me cool.
you are projecting your fear onto me. -

Originally posted by Splam With that said, just because we can't predict it, doesn't mean we shouldn't take certain precautions to maintain a healthy climate. However shutting down the country permanently like corona did for a while there, as the climate alarmists want, is just insane.
I dont think any sensible person says we shouldnt crack down on pollution or deforestation, but predicting the weather (much less changing it) is not possible. should we burn less fossil fuels? probably, but i am yet to hear of a better alternative. so far, their best solution seems to be cutting down entire forests to use them as biofuel, euphemistically called "green energy" so they dont have to burn as much oil from the ground.
do i even need to go on a long rant to drive the point home of how fucking retarded that is?
i dont know about you but i would rather we deplete some tar deep underground than our source of life. -

Here is a graph without the scored line which seems to be confusing you. Other than that I really can't help you.
ok, let us take it at face value. why then are temperatures not correlating?Atmospheric CO2 concentration is increasing at around 2.1ppm per year right now, so:
1000ppm - 407ppm = 593ppm
593ppm / 2.1ppm = 282.38 years
2020 + 282.38 = 2302
The year 2302.
Great, so we and our grandchildren will never live to corroborate your prophecy? typical.
make a 10 year, 5 year, even 1 year prediction and see what happens. climate alarmists have been doing it for decades. in the 1970s they thought we would be in an ice age by 2000 based on the trends at the time, in 1990 they said snow would be a thing of the past by 2008, in 2000 they said the earth would be gone in 20 years. all sorts of scary hockey stick graphs that all ended up way off reality.
observing the climate and recording the data is a hard science. but predicting it, as we have seen so many times, is impossible. -

Originally posted by aldra the Z-drugs are referred to as atypical benzos. I'm not sure about the pharmacology but regular benzos like xanax or valium act a lot like alcohol; you get the regular GABA effects of calming, loss of fine motor control, eventual blackout/forgetfulness etc, just less of the negative effects (nausea, loss of motor control etc) and the blackout is unexpected because the effects don't 'ramp up' as gradually as alcolol.
Z-drugs were meant to be less addictive than regular benzos; I believe they only affect SOME of your GABA receptors, so the part that calms you and gives the 'drunk' effect is suppressed but the part that sedates you hits like a truck
i see, more sedating and less calming. seems less recreational potential to me and benzos dont have much of that as it is. -

Originally posted by MORALLY SUPERIOR BEING 2020 IV: Intravenous Soyposting The axis is on the left hand side. Current ppm is 407, which is objectively high.
i know it says that but i dont see it anywhere near 407 on the graph, it appears just below 300. every historical CO2 graph i have seen, including the one you just posted, looked like that. current spike yet to beat the previous spike.CO2 gets unpleasant at about 1000ppm.
We are literally going to gas ourselves.
remember all the failed climate change predictions? you are about to make one. when is the 1000ppm supposed to happen based on current trends? -

Originally posted by MORALLY SUPERIOR BEING 2020 IV: Intravenous Soyposting The current rise in CO2 is antropogenic - meaning man made, meaning it is artificial, meaning it is not natural.
I dont see the huge spike represented on the graph, it appears just slightly lower than the previous peak. are you sure that big scary dotted spike isnt a forecast? (all of which have previously failed to conform to reality)Its rare (or was rare) to look up into the sky and NOT see plane contrails. It's rare to be on a plane and not see roads, boats, etc.
We are not insignificant.
so why have we not had another year without a summer since 1814? planes, roads and boats cannot compete with even one (small) volcano.https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2015/09/how-does-irrigation-affect-climates/
Irrigation affects local and non-local climate - water vapour is the #1 Greenhouse gas.
https://www.britannica.com/science/urban-climate
Cities change the climate inside and around them.
yes, water vapour (not CO2) is the #1 Greenhouse gas and where does it come from? you think anything we do can compete with the oceans which cover 2/3 of the planet?
this new age crap seems to be the new religion, elevating our race to such a pedestal that we believe we are greater than the planet, its oceans, its volcanoes, and all these things that will continue to exist long after we are extinct. people stop believing in god, now believe they are god.
stop that cringey shit.
the earth has mechanisms for dealing with increased CO2 or increased temperature. a scientist explains far better than i can:
" When greenhouse gases cause surface warming, a response occurs, a ‘feedback response’, in the form of changes in cloud and precipitation patterns. The CRU-related climate models all assume the feedback response is a positive one: any increment of greenhouse warming will be amplified by knock-on effects in the weather system. This assumption then leads to the predictions of ‘runaway global warming’.
Spencer set out to see what the feedback response actually is, by observing what happens in the cloud-precipitation system when surface warming is occurring. What he found, by targeting satellite sensors appropriately, is that the feedback response is negative rather than positive. In particular, he found that the formation of storm-related cirrus clouds is inhibited when surface temperatures are high. Cirrus clouds are themselves a powerful greenhouse gas, and this reduction in cirrus cloud formation compensates for the increase in the CO2 greenhouse effect." -
