Man I hate this. If you tell them the truth, "I don't really watch sports" it's kind of a conversation killer.
The only polite response is "No how did it go" and then you listen to them talk about shit you don't care about for like 5 minutes. Usually I will find any sort of question that will change the topic or at least make it more engaging, but it usually just results in me asking another fucking sports question for some reason. Then I'm in a full fledged conversation about sports and I don't know how to get out of it.
Usually it's socially unacceptable to greet random people with discussion of your personal hobbies. But for some reason with sports its okay and normal and everyone who doesn't watch them just has to deal with it.
The worst is when you don't have the energy for it so you say "Nah I don't really watch sports" BUT THEN THEY TALK ABOUT IT ANYWAY
If anybody knows how to avoid these conversations please tell me

honestly tho op my life is still kinda fucked for the moment and i felt it had no meaning for a while but the meaning has gradually started to build as i started making plans for the future, exercising and eating healthier, and setting aside at least a little time for healthy, sober activities. the habits i had while fucked up were like probably just as self destructive as the drugs themselves and they cause depression, so i try to spend very little or no time doing those things now. idk how similar your use is to mine so idk how much it will help you but that's just how i feel

And It was pretty fun, the place isn't open yet just training. Wine tasting and sampling of the dishes. Had quail for the first time, tis was good. A good group of good looking guys and girls. Not one girl I wasn't highly attracted to. The only downside was I was kinda tired. All cylinders weren't firing when I got there. Because I only slept for 2 hours last night. I'm the only one that's going to get cross trained which is cool so I don't always have to do the same thing. I get to work some days with a famous chef and my friend Eddie who's an up and coming chef. And other days I'll to bar back and other days expedite the meals. I have homework to do tonight for it, theres a lot to learn as some of the dishes aren't your run of the mill bistro stuff. It's a good step towards doing the Bill Krozbydawg stuff. That's partially how I got hired, I sent them a picture of my cat and I attached to my resume' and told the owners that I want to eventually have a Bill Krozbydawg cart and they like the ambition. The owner is from the UK and has opened 10 different restaurants in his country and they are all successful. I take after people that cook well that I respect like mq and Ed that aren't negative people.

It's hard to be sober when I have taken a vow of poverty and don't care about materialism. Like most people buy themselves new clothes and electronics and video games or whatever and I don't do any of that.
I've been wearing the same stuff for 5 years because I don't care about vanity. I barely eat or spend money on food, I haven't bought a video game in over a year. All I spend money on is weed, coffee, bread and my girlfriend.
Maybe I'll take her on a date tonight
