the only way to stop famous mass shooting from happening is to introduce Social Reliability Scorring System (SRSS) or its misnomer ''social credit scorring system'' as it is known to most retarded americans and only allow people with a good score to purchase firearms.

Bringing back corporal punishment instead of timeouts for timmy would help a lot.

It only really seeks practical for building things one at a time and take a while while doing it. It can't compete with manufacturing and few people find full time work mass producing 3d printed objects

3D printing isn't meant to replace standard manufacturing...But 3D printing is done on a commercial scale too. Also go find me some Yamaha PSR40 speaker covers that are commercially made or a replacement trap door cover for An Amiga 1200 etc etc. The trick is to target "high" demand parts that are not commercially available.

I've mentioned before I work for an OEM and I actually print and sell parts to the company because what we needed didn't exist commercially and rather than spend $1000s on getting molds made it was easier to just 3D print them, they are also relatively tiny parts so I can print 50 per run.

Depending on the size of the item you can fit much more than 1 on the build plate and of course you can always have more than 1 printer. People have 3D printing farms churning parts out.

The beauty of 3D printing is you can design and replace things that are unobtainable and/or just don't exist commercially. =

I had a business venture with someone that involved 3d printing but the numbers weren't there to make it financially viable

I'm not suggesting he open a fortune 500 company...but you can make a tidy profit selling your designs on ebay or other platforms. My printers have paid for themselves over and over.

Again the trick is finding "a need"

Here's a couple of examples of "needed" parts that you can't buy commercially and sell well on Ebay.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/353778298617?hash=item525ed46ef9:g:u7EAAOSwUAVhmpV4

There's literally hundreds of things you can print that there is demand for...you just have to research it. I tend to stick to stuff related to my hobbies, restoring old computers, accessories for astronomy stuff such as this

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/284032665054?hash=item4221aa85de:g:B~gAAOSwcUJfTTMS

^ sell 15-20 of those and you've paid for your printer.

  12. Sudo has said a couple of times "You're not an addict"...he's right and wrong.

He's right in the sense I don't and never have seen myself as an addict. Multiple times in my life I've quit multiple behaviors and never gone back to them...

..but on the other hand based on 30+yrs of heavy drinking (defined at 4 drinks a day or more than 14 drinks a week)...I was drinking 6-8 drinks a day and more than 40 a week...and back when I was in my early 20s...12-18 drinks a day...most qualified folk would say I was addicted.

This idea you can't become cured of addiction and are therefore always a recovering addict is more bullshit.

I can have a singular drink now...and have occasionally... and I don't suddenly get the desire to go back to drinking 8 a day everyday...I can have 1 drink and leave it at that without a second thought.

  13. There was also a moment...an epiphany if you like...I would be driving home everyday from work and all I was thinking about was that first drink I was going to have when I got home...

I'd call the wife 5 mins before I got there and tell her to have my 1 litre glass (wetted and then chilled in the freezer) filled and ready for when I walked through the door...There was a table by the door and I'd walk in and there it would be...I'd down it in one go, make the "ahhhh" sound and then tell her to pour me another while I took a shower.

Well the epiphany was finally realizing that wasn't really a healthy/normal way to behave.

  14. Here's a better SHORTER step program

    1. Seek medical advice, not some other dropouts advice that the court told you you had to go hang out with.
    2. avoid other drug addled idiots...don't hang out with them in groups where you can all enable each other and laugh at their stories.
    3. Get some personal responsibility and will power
    4. If you fall off the horse get back on it
    5. Get a new set of friends, dump the ones that are a bad influence on you.
    6. Get some hobbies to occupy your time.
    7. If you feel the need to take something, take a fuckin nap instead.

All those are more useful than the "Pray to your maker" ones in the 12 steps

  17. When my ex was in NA I went along with her to offer support and was disgusted by the glorification of drugs those idiots did...the whole "class" was people telling stories of their drug fueled days and everyone else laughing and clapping the worse it got. They had a guest speaker who was some reformed prostitute that also just sat there telling stories for everyone to laugh at... Then the whole 12 step thing was spoken about and like 8 out of the 12 steps (as I recall) involved some higher power...what a load of bullshit.

Basically if you don't believe in god or a "higher power" you're fucked as far as the stupid 12 steps go.

ETA: The class was in a house behind the church..when we got there there were some lowly folk hanging outside and I asked "Is this the NA class?"

Some clown came over and hugged me...I said "I'm not the drug addict, she is"
