I think you have potential if you applied yourself and did what was necessary to improve yourself and your state in life.

How big is your house? Couldn't you rent out rooms at least to generate some income?

I thought I had read something about Firefox being able to use (some) Chrome extensions, or vice versa. May be wrong, but I could have sworn this was a feature before.

Maybe what's commonly referred to as "ghosts" aren't what we think it is?

I made fun of a jedi's nose repeatedly in high school until he became enraged and beat me bloody. I never expected he would do that, I was pretty much walking down the hallway after class laughing and he tapped me on the shoulder and I turned around right into his fist. He got three good shots in before I even realized what was going on and then the teacher came and broke it up. I didn't even swing. I just kinda stood there like 'what the fuck' and my nose was bleeding but not broken. I dripped blood all the way down the hallway to the bathroom..

I remember mentioning this before….. for at least a year I called him 'nose' instead of his actual name, and other people started saying it too, and instead of referring to him they would just point to their nose. Then the breaking point came during art class, where we sat across from each other and our project was to draw a portrait of the person across from us…so I drew him with a giant nose, and a tiny earth nearby for scale. He told me 'You're going to be sorry' but he was just a skinny little guy and I never heard of him ever fighting, and I believed he was harmless.

Also, I didn't make fun of his nose because he was jedi, I made fun of his nose because it was huge.

You deserved it, I hate people that don't mind their own business and feel the need to fixate on and harass others. Really, can you imagine how incredibly annoying it would be if someone repeatedly did this to you over the course of a year?

Only needs one to be genuine for what? For beleiving hydro's house is haunted? For actually taking action on any specific unconfirmed account?

Of course not. Only one needs to be proven genuine to demonstrate that...hmm, well, I suppose it's not like proving a species of animal exists. There would be difficulty in defining what exactly you had discovered and whether other phenomena were of the same nature. But it would demonstrate that this is well worth studying.

unfalsifiable hypothesis (how exactly do I prove ghosts or whatever do not, universally, exist?) and experience suggests you have a better chance of curing cancer by throwing darts I can't see a compelling reason to fund research into the usual fare that gets touted as supernatural. You're the one who's always saying stereotypes somehow codify cultural wisdom somehow, and it's hard to argue the paranormal investigative community isn't full to the brim with lunatics and has squarely failed to produce any compelling evidence for… well… anything so maybe we really are justified in dismissing these things more or less off the bat.

You could argue that universal quantification applies to anything. Once again there would be an issue in defining what exactly a "ghost" is, but it could lead to far superior methods of observation that could allow you to gather data on what was occurring in a certain area, a sort of "ghost" detector.

See, this is a common problem with rationalists, not that I'm against rationalism, but you go too far and dismiss the possibility that there could be anything of value to ideas like this, that there's any reason to study it, while not properly taking into account the genuine systemic biases and other problems I mentioned.

I don't know what an ideal study would be like, what methods it would use, but a very high quality study, or something based off a novel theory with merit, would be worth doing IMO. As I said there's just such an immense amount of data, the vast majority junk, that it's very difficult to find what you need. As with UFOs it would be best to start with the highest quality cases and see whether there's anything of particular value that can be gleamed from them.

Google told me to fuck off.

Some results may have been removed under data protection law

    Fuck you too google.

Did you use a local version of google? Europe has laws that could effect this, for example, the most well known is the "right to be forgotten" policy that was implemented.

On the subject of the paranormal, it would require a very long post to properly address it and I'm not sure I have the mental energy or motivation. My key points would likely be that we don't know everything, that, no doubt, like many other things (UFOs) the vast majority can be explained and are false, but you only need one to be genuine, and that people make assumptions about the nature of the phenomenon, but if there are genuine instances we don't know what they are and they could be perfectly compatible with the known laws of this universe. Then there's also the cultural/societal aspect, that, realistically, like race, there's a sort of taboo around it and attempting to seriously explore it will likely lead to serious consequences, a strong detrimental impact on your career in academia, your reputation/the perceptions of others, it's much more difficult to get funded and approved, and that due to the general nature of this the proper observation is immensely more difficult and unlikely to occur, we have far less concrete information making a proper study and observation much more difficult to conduct, you'd largely be shooting in the dark. Of course skepticism is justified, but that doesn't mean that there shouldn't be any attempts at studies made, and accepting that there strong factors negatively effecting this isn't the same as believing there's a grand conspiracy to suppress information.

There's also the issue of the psychological profile of the communities involved in this. There have been studies done on attempting to quantify the traits of conspiracy theorists and, unfortunately, it's about what you'd expect. This leads to an enormous amount of junk, bad data, that you need to wade through and makes it much more difficult to find what you are looking for, a low signal to noise ratio.

I've experienced a few strange things, and it does make you more open about the possibility. I mentioned these on Zoklet a few times, wish I could do a search of the Internet Archive for exact phrases like you can on google so i could just copy paste it. I saw a low flying small UFO one time at night in the backyard of my parent's house in Los Angeles. Highly doubt it was a hallucination as there was nothing occurring at the time that would lead to that and I've never experienced anything like that at any other time. It never gets very dark in major metropolitan areas like that, and I think the light was on or the neighbor's. It was about 10-15 feet up and maybe 2-3 feet in diameter passing near a room and its roof and going over the fence next to it.

Shaped sort of like this, but a bit more squat:

The color was metallic. Anyway, the appearance was very distinct and definitely did not look like something you could buy, it was extremely well made and I could see no source of propulsion or hear any noise. This was also in a poor area, "the ghetto", making it less likely someone would own/purchase something like this, be able to afford it, or interested in doing so. The way it moved was also very distinct, it appeared to move perfectly straight forward, but while doing so was also turning and had a wobbling motion. It's motion was perfectly consistent along its axis. If it was a government device it's odd that it would be in an area like this with such a large population, flying low over people's yards. I remember some time later my sister mentioned that she had seen something at night, she would jump rope regularly, but unfortunately I didn't ask her for more details. I stood transfixed for a few seconds then ran to the door and yelled for everyone to come outside, but when I went back to look I was gone. I wonder what would have happened if I had quickly climbed the fence and tried to grab it (fairly adept at climbing and there was a small walnut tree right by it that I had climbed numerous times before to get onto the fence or roof) or thrown something at it. Not sure I'd want to risk dying or losing my hands/arms, but god, what a rare and extremely valuable opportunity that could be, just imagine if you succeeded somehow.

Another time was during middle school. It began early (fucking goddamn bastards, and right during puberty, a period of rapid growth and development) and I would get dressed in the walk in closet but would also spend as many minutes as I could get away with sitting down and trying to rest or catch a quick nap, or enter what I call "pseudo-sleep". I began noticing an odd change in the "atmosphere", which made me feel somewhat anxious, but it was distinct feeling I haven't felt since. I didn't think much of it, but some time later I asked my brother to help me with a stupid idea for a fake thread I wanted to make on the paranormal/conspiracy board of Gamefaqs I liked reading at the time. Took them with a cheap digital camera, they still weren't very advanced at that time, and I noticed something strange in them:

The originals may have looked clearer, I'm not sure. I checked the closet, I don't think anything had been moved, and there was nothing there that that seemed it could have produced that. Of course I took into account that they may have been artifacts due to low light conditions, but I took many pictures in other dark areas to test this and nothing like this appeared. Strange artifacts that looked vaguely humanoid or at least face like (I'm aware of pareidolia). Here's one I took afterward, there were others, but I only kept the best:

I think I may have taken multiple pictures, possible used the feature that would take multiple in rapid succession (burst mode), and the artifacts would remain consistent in them, except moving throughout a short distance as if they were in motion. Nothing could be perceived with the naked eye, at least I never noticed anything, and I never experienced any phenomena other than this visual phenomenon that would appear in these digital pictures (I don't have any theory as to why this would occur, nothing comes to mind), nothing auditory, tactile, or telepathic, didn't notice things being moved, although I likely wouldn't have noticed this as it and the thought of making an observation to see whether it was occurring didn't cross my mind. Oh, and the camera didn't have flash.

Eventually they stopped appearing. Some time later I felt the same feeling in another small closet I had felt in the first closet while this was occurring, the unnerving change in atmosphere, and on that hunch I decided to take pictures:

Shortly afterward it disappeared completely and I never experienced it again. Could what I felt have been me somehow sensing whatever causing this? The world may never know.

    Dear diary:

Feels kind of strange that we're having weather in the 70s, even days in the low 80s, this late into the year. I know we have many members in the south, so unfortunately I don't feel as exclusively fortunate. Then again, we don't have to deal with hurricanes, tornadoes, snow, rainy seasons/large amounts of rain, insects, excessive heat during some periods, or high humidity. The Bay Area is generally considered as having the best weather in the country. Come to think of it, it's kind of strange that we avoid so many negative things.

Christ it must suck living in cold places and where it rains all the time. Well, if you stay indoors all the time I suppose many of these things don't matter as much, and the sound of rain is soothing. Although, you would miss out on the superior benefits of sun exposure of sufficient strength, the much greater vitamin d production, which lasts twice as long as dietary, and possibly other phytochemicals, along with beneficial effect on circadian rythm regulation and ceasing melatonin production (wakefulness promoting, reduces sleepiness).

Took 70mg opium about 30 minutes ago, thought it best to trial it before the rare days when I may actually do something outside, in case I don't react well and am incapacitated/would strongly prefer not to go outside in that state. May be feeling a sense of relaxation setting in which is different from what I experienced on etizolam, and so far not as good. If 100mg isn't sufficient I'm just going to vaporize it for maximum efficiency and then order poppy seeds if I want more.

I may also be starting to noticing interesting effects from the vitamin k (mk-7 via nattokinase) and loading doses of vitamin k (10K first day, 15k the next. You can go up to 15k and seems to work well if you're deficient). Definite libido increase when I woke up (morning wood is associated with the natural diurnal rythm of testosterone levels, there's a sharp spike early in the morning before waking), which I've noticed before, along with a mood and energy increase. Felt oddly anxious when I awoke, may have been the relatively excessive energy levels compared to before and a desire to move, or possibly from some dreams/REM sleep I had experienced, vitamin d can have a negative effect on sleep quality/deep sleep if taken too late.

It should be optimized. Mainly I'd just like to see a user CP like on Zoklet, it was great. Along with the Zoklet smilies.

Then again, this is pretty much charity from Lanny. And considering how small the userbase is and is likely to remain, how inactive the site is and fairly low/mediocre quality most threads are, I can understand not having the motivation to improve it. I don't know how busy Lanny is, but he has admitted to being a lazy/procrastinating nigger. He needs to get stimmed up to the max and set aside a day to finally get this done, for someone of his alleged skill level IT SHOULDN'T BE THAT HARD OR TAKE THAT LONG! Unless, of course, you're either lying about your level of ability/competence or have a greatly inaccurate and inflated self-image, which I don't think is the case, so all the more reason you should be ashamed of yourself and strive to develop better habits.

Wow, in a way it's fascinating how quickly your life fell apart and you went from being in a busy crowded house with other dysfunctional people to being all alone, except for your animals. Maybe there will be an outbreak of something next and they'll be taken from you too.

oh, and living in a house with some superfucky paranormal activity thats been extremely active this week.. thats going to be fun. Talk about seeing people walk across the porch, front gate bell jingle, hear footsteps in the house, hear them go to the garage with all the dogs barking like my husband got home only to find no one there. Also the voices when he has been gone has been troubling to say the least.

It could be the onset of schizophrenia (partial running gag) or something similar, an episode of (mild) psychosis. Mental illness can be triggered by stress, and what you've been experiencing is pretty severe/serious, particularly for someone with an anxiety disorder.

You should ask §m£ÂgØL to move in now that you're going to have all this space, work him like a dog. He could at least be a babysitter and do housekeeping duties, take care of the pets. Ask him to bring a gram of etizolam as a housewarming present so you can both try avoid going completely insane.

You won't have to be alone and he won't have be captive under his controlling parents anymore, you can be crazy together. It's very fitting in a way, like fate has brought you together and made this be. First he gets you pregnant, then everyone around you either dies or leaves you so you can finally be alone together.

    ...

Oh dear god, §m£ÂgØL really is cursed. Either that or he's behind all of this and has made a deal with the devil or some other evil being. The voices he was hearing in the dark could have been them contacting him.

Oh crap, I forgot to make a thread in one of the chans requesting that the next spree killer wear a bodycam and livestream it. A thread about strategies to get maximum kill counts would be good too.

Sophie, you should do this on the places you frequent. You indulge in the vicarious and voyeuristic enjoyment of murder/violence and suffering, right?

I wonder how feasible it is to use directional microwaves as a murder weapon, whether you could literally cook someone's brain in their skull, or at least their eyeballs. It would be pretty hardcore.

There's this, which is a similar concept, except it isn't intended to kill people: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_Denial_System

The ADS millimeter wave energy works on a similar principle as a microwave oven, exciting the water and fat molecules in the skin, and instantly heating them via dielectric heating. One significant difference is that a microwave oven uses the much lower frequency (and longer wavelength) of 2.45 GHz. The short millimeter waves used in ADS only penetrate the top layers of skin, with most of the energy being absorbed within 0.4 mm (1/64"),[14] whereas microwaves will penetrate into human tissue about 17 mm (0.67").

Dang, well, eyeballs, maybe, which is still pretty cool. I'm not knowledgeable on this subject, I don't know whether using a lower frequency would allow you to penetrate deep enough. I also don't know how difficult or expensive it would be to acquire something to generate them and the kind of directional panel needed, along with the power requirements.

But, my god would this be a magnificent terrorist/serial killer weapon for striking fear into the hearts of men and causing societal panic. Imagine random people in a crowd, even entire groups, suddenly shrieking and collapsing in pain, then their eyes literally bursting.
