Unwyred recently started referring to his girlfriend as his "partner" and I, too, thought it was gay as fuck. I immediately associated the term with faggotry.
And when asked WHY does he refer to her as "partner" his only answer was, "Because she is. And we just prefer the term partner"
It should also be noted that he's turned into a super hardcore leftist over the past few years, adopting various pronouns all of a sudden and using terms like "partner", manifesting, etc.
Ugh.

Even in the event we develop the technology to "upload our consciousness" to an Internet-based avatar, that digital copy of ourselves would still not be us. It would be a form of AI using our mapped brain to behave in ways that the AI believes the "real us" would behave. It would be a representation of our real selves, using AI to "fill in the blanks" so to speak.
I do think that we will one day be able to achieve that, but as far as uploading our true selves (our consciousness, soul, whatever you wanna call it, etc) to live as we are now but inside computer code rather than our physical bodies, I think is impossible.

Man, I am sitting here all stoned and a bit drunk, looking at the &T themed background I have it set to here, and thinking about what it must be like for a genuinely new person to come here and honestly want to become part of our community and want to know the history of it.

It's not about increasing pressure. It's about purposefully sabotaging key points in the underground water system to fail systematically. (one failure causes more pressure on another area, which causes a failure, which causes more pressure on another, leading to another failure, etc.)
