well yeah, CNN and pals aired poorly sourced or entirely made up stories to manipulate public opinion in relation to the Gulf War, Iraq, Syria and virtually every other conflict the US has been involved in.

The USS Michigan, designed specifically for special operations has joined the Carl Vinson fleet, as well as the Japanese Izumo helicopter carrier. Virtually every time I've seen the term 'Fake News™' used the concept's been attributed to Trump, the popular story being that he created it to attack news outlets that reported on him negatively. The sensible or pragmatic approach would be to have dropped the 'Fake News™' branding when their PropOrNot nonsense backfired so spectacularly, but these people only ever seem to double down - likely because they know they'll never face any real consequences if they ultimately lose.
I was actually planning on making a thread about the Facebook/Google censorship in the name of enhancementing 'Fake News™' - I read an interesting article about how the Chicago Tribune, a previously 'respected news outlet' had their social network traffic plummet as a result of the new enhancements... I'll see if I can find it again. -

They've only been pretending to stop doing business with NK and they haven't really been pretending very hard at that.
In the case of conventional war breaking out they'd probably support NK covertly but not take any overt action against the US, but if there was a risk of a nuclear attack they'd have to stop it - there's no way they could accept the radioactive fallout so close to Chinese shores.
That said, with a Total War doctrine, there's nothing to stop it rapidly escalating to a nuclear exchange... -

They're already out and about, 50-70 diesel submarines from what I hear...
I don't know about their airforce, it's pretty unreasonable to expect them to have been able to independently build planes that can compete with the SU-35/PAK-FA/F35 etc... Most countries aligned against the US don't really care for offensive bombers and opt instead for missile tech to defeat their expensive air-superiority - as such their planes are mostly defensive, and SAMs/CIWS cannons serve that role at a much lower cost -
