   actually does sound like it might be the RAM
   
   it's one of the few things that the bios/uefi/whatever will check during post and immediately shut down if it fails. if yyou've already got it open make sure you can't see anything obvious like cables or components that have slipped out of place but outside of that you'd need to know what you're doing to test it
