Paradox of determinism.

And that idea is great, except it's contradictory to the parameters set in the thought experiment. He can't derail the deterministic chain, and if it appears to him as if he can, then the future he predicted was wrong. The experiment presupposes free-will and/or fails to grasp what actual determinism is. "If K predicts using D that he will buy the losing lottery ticket, and then CHOOSES to buy the winning ticket" is essentially just saying "how can determinism be real lol we can make choices". But those choices are as deterministic as anything else, and if the parameters of the thought-experiment were true K would have accurately predicted that he would have chosen to buy the winning lottery ticket because he already knew what the lottery numbers were going to be. You can't have foreknowledge of your decisions and change your decisions - it's not foreknowledge in that case. K either knows what he's going to do or doesn't. And if he doesn't, he's not K and/or doesn't posses the ability.

I mean, if a jedi is dying and can be saved by an organ transplant from a goy, there is a moral obligation to take the organ from the goy to save the jedi. Even if this kills the goyim. Goyim aren't even people. They're animals that walk on two legs.

Everything.
Politics, by swinging the Overton window so far to the left that people unironically think that making terroristic threats to deplatform public speakers and violently taking to the streets to smash people's skulls in with bikelocks is an effective and noble form of political activism.
My ability to enjoy avocados.
My desire to own a pet, lest I be lumped in with my generation's "pet parent" nutjobs.
My happiness as a tranny, because so many trannies are the people I described ruining politics and I'm immediately assumed to be like them.
Video games.
Movies.
Basically all forms of media.
My faith in humanity.
Society.

It doesn't even work though. All it does is create easy targets that end up pushing moderates away. Crazy mentally ill fucks on tumblr calling for vagina subsidies are not shifting the overton window, they're killing liberalism by creating the public opinion that that's somehow representative of anyone who is anywhere left of the american "center"
It kind of works. I'm not saying it's a perfectly flawless concept, but there is enough validity to it. Society tolerates crazy radical leftist antics like reducing the male population to 10% or killing the bourgeoisie about as much as it tolerates right wingers suggesting folks should be able to own guns and deport brown people who are in the country illegally.
Yes, this backfires and pushes moderates away. That's the Overton window shifting back right again. Until radical right wingers start talking enough batshit crazy nonsense because it's become "acceptable" that it again alienates the moderates and they go back to the left. Et cetera, ad infinitum.

They spend way to much fucking money on temporary fixes.
Stop contracting out rent for section 8 families. Build a fucking 100 story apartment complex of minimal size rooms (like 400 sq feet with high ceilings for a loft bed)
Build those skinny apartments (That's what they call them in NYC) that are like 100 floors at 1200 ft high. they are really narrow, barley block any sun. much of the problem solved. build like thousands of them per building. put a store in the middle of it for their Food Stamp purchases of basic needs like Shampoo and Toothpaste and lunchmeat and such.
the city just pays for the buildings and tries to get people some help in finding employment until they can work on their own and be asked to leave for the next set of homeless. because homeless will always exist if a Family becomes unemployed.
I'm kind of pissed off someone fucked up Carlos Santana's Mural in the Mission. that wasn't just against hispanics but rock lovers as well. What a dumb cunt.
Build conventional style buildings with tiny living quarters using cost efficient materials and building techniques, and build factories around the khrushchyovka for the people to work in. All run by the state, of course.

lol
1) Facebook won't go out of business. Like Lanny said, it's too goddamn valuable for shady stuff.
2) If anything is going to happen, it's that things are going to get worse from your perspective. Do you honestly think things will ever get "better"? People like you are on the fringe, and your desires run counter to those of the mainstream. Lol. Passively hoping it'll get better is stupid. But even if you try to actively change things for the better, cucks like you elected Trump under that same misguided pretext. Elect a neocon conman to fix Washington. LOL
The rest of society won't let you have your special snowflake internet back, and if you try to affect change you'll either fail or make it worse like you did with Trump.

Why is this so fucking hard? I don't want to wake my boyfriend up 'cause he has work, but if I don't go to bed he'll think I'm avoiding him/don't like sleeping with him. It's such a catch 22. He's gonna be upset either way. 😒
Why's life gotta be so hard, man? Why I gotta overthink everything? T_T

As much as I like freedom of speech, the Cap'n is right. You can say what you want, and the government (except in extraordinary circumstances) will not stop you. Like Cap'n said, they have a right to dissociate themselves from you to protect their own image. That said - even if it wasn't damaging to be associated with open racists, and within a company's rights to fire you over it - only the government is under any kind of obligation to tolerate that shit in general. A person would be within their rights to kick you out of their house over it, and a business should be within their rights to kick you off of their payroll (regardless of the 'protecting our brand' justification).

Understanding the basic concept of consent (yes/no, i like that) is not the same as being capable of giving informed and meaningful consent.

Also: I find it odd how the article says "stand your ground" laws increase homicide rates like that's inherently a bad thing. Do these increases in homicides lead to fewer grievous assaults? Because I imagine killing the people who are prone to starting shit creates an overall downward trend in violent crime, self-defense related homicides not withstanding. The fact that legally empowering people to kill assailants/imminent threats increases homicides should be unsurprising. Does it reduce violent crime overall though?
And either way, it's certainly eugenic. Attacking someone in a stand your ground state is an entry ticket into the Darwin Awards.

So businesses are moral paragons now?
No, but people like to think they are. And people run businesses.
An American businessman might make a point of supporting ICE and border patrol agents because he feels he has a moral obligation to protect America from illegal immigration and protect America's right to a secure border. Another American businessman might make a point of supporting undocumented workers and protecting illegal immigrants because they feel they have a moral obligation to their fellow man to help them live a better life in America. Both of these are decisions that are highly politicized, but they aren't acting politically. They're acting in line with their morals - it's the conflict between those two sets of morals that shapes the political debate surrounding them, but neither person is necessarily making a decision based on their politics... more like their politics are based on the morals that lead them to the decisions they make.

yeah, the reason for the 6 million number they keep harping on about (even the 'official' number should be much lower, official estimates for individual camp death tolls when combined is around 3 million but the 'total' never gets updated) is apparently because there are archaic jedi holy documents that talk about 6 million deaths as a prophecy on the road to the 'eternal kingdom of israel'.
they've made claims quoting that number many, many times in the past.
Are you seriously claiming the numer was less than 6 million? How can you even challenge the unquestionable Truth of what jedi people went through at the hands of Nazi Germany? They made lampshades out of jedi skin and jedi bars of soap a la fight club.

and the number of jedis killed in the holocaust couldn't have been more than 100k, and that was starvation
Germany was fighting a two front war and had just had their supply lines cut by the allies. They didn't have food to feed their soldiers so why would they feed their enemies?

They need to fucking watch it before they get themselves a REAL holocaust
It's even foretold in their holy books; eventually the world will wake up and see what they have done, and six million jedis will be killed. Even the rocks will cry out that there is a jedi hiding nearby.
That's where the "6 million" number in the holocaust comes from. They believe that if you can make the entire world believe a lie that it will literally become the truth, and obviously they don't want to actually get genocided
