If he offered 1k to advance their careers it would have been clear abuse because he is consciously making an offer so that he can benefit. Asking somebody if you can masturbate in front of them is not at all the same thing.
At what point do you decide that the power balance is so strong that people can't possibly have consensual sex? These woman needed to be stronger and say no. All this feminism in the world but people still want to make women out to be these weak little shits.
I'm not saying if "what if he straight up offered to advance careers", I'm saying what if he just asked for money and the people present felt the implication was that their careers could stagnate if they didn't pony up? There's no specific point that you decide that sex can't possibly be uncoerced, but if people later say they felt coerced it isn't automatically invalidated because they ended up consenting to whatever they claim they felt coerced to do.
Listen and believe, shitlord. Or like, at least remember it's not necessarily that anyone's lying or being weak, and there's a chance that it's all just valid and conflicting feelings about something that happened. You don't have to mean to hurt someone to end up hurting someone etc. That's how it seems from Louis' response too - he didn't necessarily think it was going to make anyone uncomfortable, but he accepts that he did. -

I don't disagree, honestly. It's just... the situation itself is at least a little fucked, regardless of whether you consent. Consenting to things under pressure is different than just "consent", and the power imbalance there puts a lot of pressure on the person being propositioned to consent. It may not be a knife to her throat or a gun to a family member's head or anything, but we legally protect people from other forms of coercion in other contexts... and people are understandably morally opposed to the idea of putting undue pressure on other people in exchange for money/sex/etc. Y'know?
If he'd asked for $1000 and these women said they felt like they were being pressured to pay him to advance their careers, and they paid him, would you say "well they consented"? They may have consented, but the situation is still morally kind of fucked. -

Totse had people in every field/forum that knew their shit - coding, radios, chemistry, pyrotechnics, guns, history, gardening, philosophy, drugs. And it attracted people who wanted to learn that shit. We don't have many people who want to learn and even fewer capable of teaching.

Because he has power and the implication is that he'll use that power to help her in return for sex, even if that isn't explicitly said or even obviously implied. Same reason it's inappropriate for college professors and their students to hook up, sorta. The power imbalance between a massively successful comedian/director/writer/showrunner etc and some nobody woman in the industry is enough that it's not hard to consider requesting shit like that exploitative. -

He didn't. I blacked out on etiz, and he stayed with me the whole night worried I was dying. He even made a reddit thread about it. He was on 4-aco. I thought he was gaining my trust just to fuck me over. So I burned all his clothes while he was in Toronto. When he got back he thought I was breaking up with him... burning your SOs clothes is a pretty universal symbol, but it's not even what I meant - I just wanted to destroy something of his. I figured even without those clothes he had some of mine, and he didn't need that blanket because we were sharing one. I didn't intend on him being on the street, cold, with not warm clothes or blanket.
He figured we were done though, so he stole the fleshlight ("I'mma be single anyway..." - his words). But I still couldn't find my phone or my vape. So I asked to search his bag. If something of yours is missing, and you ask if you can look in a person's bag and they get SUPER defensive about it... you pretty much goddamn well know it's in the bag. So I reached for it and he fucking BOLTED. Threw a cast iron bucket at my head, I caught up and tackled him etc.
A little more shit happened, he ended up under the bridge huddled up in pain... I felt terrible so I tried to start a fire for him because he said he was cold. He thought I was stealing his phone too, because it was still at my place so I went and got it for him. When I came back I was like "you can have it back, but I want to look in your bag" and he still wouldn't let me. A scuffle ensued, I ended up with the bag, he ended up with a giant ass stick threatening to beat my ass with it (and I had a knife out).
That's when I opened the bag to discover... fleshlight.
That's the whole story. I love him. I loved him even when I was kicking his ass. I was kicking his ass because I loved him and I thoguht he was abusing my feelings for him. Instead I was just physically abusing him. I piece of shit, not him. -

I beat him up because I thought he stole my phone. It turned out he had my fleshlight (which is why he was so defensive about letting me check his bag). I regret everything and wish this past weekend never happened. I woke up crying today haha. I miss him. -

Scron is banned and has only been sporadically posting from my account. He couldn't reply if he wanted to.
I went through his FB and deleted all the pics of us, deleted every reference to FELA (his shit idea for a game) there, went to his reddit and changed the default language to Japanese, and deleted every reference to FELA there too. Also still pretty sure he stole my phone, but I'm running out of options for petty revenge. Hopefully he gets pneumonia/dies from hypothermia considering I burned all his clothes and beat his ass pretty solid.
