Nothing has changed, regarding the bolded point. The market has always been inundated with games that could only be described as passionless cash-grabs. It's just gotten to the point where many of the "good games" are also becoming passionless cash-grabs. For every Doom, there have always been 100 soulless doom clones. And even Doom ended up indirectly resulting in Daikatana. From the very beginning of gaming, we've had the same problems we're having now.
Pretty much the only things that are new are some business models: DLC and microtransactions, and both can be done in ways that are actually a good thing for gaming. So really, it's the same as ever - some bad faith actors soullessly trying to make money in the most despicable way possible... essentially, filling the same niche as the shovelware developers of yore. -

I've watched pretty much everything else I could conceivably want to watch, I think... but that might just be because Canadian Netfeltch is kinda trash... they don't have the funding to consistently add to their library, so they make trade-offs like not renewing their rights to some shows in order to afford others. I put on Bob's Burgers sometimes when I'm bored/drunk and want something dumb and fun, but they lost the rights to that in order to keep Friends on their service. Which, sure, but I'm not interested in watching Friends.
tl;dr - reeeee normies ruining netflix by watching different dumb tv shows from the dumb tv shows i wanna watch -

I do not really solely on reason nor solely on my own personal empirical observations or solely on those made by others, but a combination of all three.
Which is the reason why I said an education provides reason to believe the model is credible, but not necessarily that it is applicable to reality. Without proper, rigorous, empirical study we can only demonstrate that ideas are internally consistent, not that they are external realities applicable to existence. I would agree an education provides sufficient support for the logical consistency of the globe model, but not that it provides sufficient empirical support for it being the reality. Hence, flat earthers exist. *sigh* -
