I know this is a joke, but the trick for freezing tofu to achieve a better consistency is a good one that all vegetarians/vegans should know about. Still, I seldom consume soy. Not because I'm afraid of phytoestrogens, but because I don't like most soy-based foods. -

Similarly, having nice faux-leather shoes would be perceived as encouraging leather to people who don't know that it's not, and it might motivate them to buy leather shoes in the same style. I'm not a supporter of that argument because I see it as overly restrictive and like to eat a veggie burger if I want or wear vegan shoes that don't look like it, but I see where it comes from.
