2018-04-25 at 2:44 PM UTC in Enter just went TSTMThat is so fucked up, there has to be a way to undo this. I was expecting future civilizations to dig up an old hard drive and find this obscure misogynist with over a decade's worth of writings. Now that can't happen.

Most Americans are one or the other, especially those directly involved with politics at any level. You can reject the system altogether, but the people who make a difference work from within. It’s not going anywhere, so you may as well pick a side and set an example. -

Normally I drink an absurd amount of coffee, but today I've just had four shots of espresso. I'll catch up soon! Ezekiel bread is great.

2018-04-24 at 8:04 PM UTC in Soylent, and other meal replacement solutionsI'm still doing this, and it's even more involved than ever. Here's my current intake:
Originally posted by Zanick 30 g Hemp protein

1 scoop powdered greens
10 g MCT oil
1 tsp Maca powder
1 tsp Matcha green tea powder
5 g creatine monohydrate
3,700 mg potassium citrate
1.25 tsp calcium-magnesium citrate
0.5 tsp MSM powder (sulfur)
200 mg L-Theanine
1 tbsp psyllium husk
300 mg beta-gpc
For a month I tried adding 28 g sprouted pumpkin seed protein and I liked it, but the only affordable brand was made on equipment shared with dairy products and I'm going for an all-vegan diet right now, plus I just didn't see a need for the extra protein.
Generally, I drink this over the course of a day, sometimes two depending on my activity level. I have tons of energy. In the evenings, if I get hungry, I'll make an arugula/spinach/tomato salad with balsamic vinegar. If I want a snack, I roast some popcorn in coconut oil on the stove. I've lost almost 30 pounds this year!
I cut the protein in half; I'm not lifting lately and it's a waste. Now I'm drinking a shake pretty much every other day and eating a lot of greens or chewing gum when I get hungry. I've lost more than 30 lbs, and I mean to keep going. -

2018-04-24 at 7:39 PM UTC in Being without Karen has made me a better manToday during my commute I wondered whether you might be in any one of the cars around me, and I decided I can't know that, so I took extra care not to hit any of them. Waiting for traffic to clear, I thought about the places they might be going: they probably don't all have somebody. I silently wished them all good luck in finding their own Karens. I know now that the loveless are their own private tormentors, and my heart goes out to all of them. Karen, loving you is why I was put on this earth, but I am a better human when I am filled with longing for you.

Originally posted by Fox Paws Always thought the “Boy Scouts” was just another method the man uses to indoctrinate our youth to grow up to be agreeable little cogs in the corporate machine :)
Not really, it's become something of a social club where kids learn teamwork and leadership. My experience was that everyone thought the structure around our activities was total bullshit, but our dads bribed us into community service with exciting camping trips and let us pick the food, so we went along with the rest. That's how it went, for a few years, but around 16 I gained some perspective on a more demanding hike and the whole thing was character building.
I can't say for sure whether my fellow scouts became cogs, with the exception of one who killed himself, but I took LSD for the first time the same week I became an Eagle Scout. -

Originally posted by -mal- I only did Girl Scouts for 3 years. But I was the top cookie seller all 3 years and with my points I was able to go to camp for free every summer. And every year I got myself a stuffed animal. They had a different animal every year. And I’d get my mom the matching pewter figurine as a thank you because she helped with a lot of my sales. She had a lot of friends and colleuges.
Even with your mother's help, you must have been some entrepreneur. I had top sales for Christmas wreaths for two years in a row, but the bar was set pretty low in my troop to begin with and I really didn't deserve a prize. What other fundraising do you remember helping with? -

2018-04-24 at 5:45 PM UTC in Who here was a Boy Scout?I was also pushed to make Eagle by my father. I finished the project and met with the Board of Review just days before my 18th, not unlike yourself. I personally didn't mind working on merit badges but I didn't get many more than I needed, and certainly not enough to earn Palms.
I was elected leader of my patrol around the time several of my peers quit, so I was left to represent myself as an independently functioning unit within the troop, which was rather awkward. Philmont was a turning point in my life. I went at 16 and it couldn't have been at a more important time. When I came home, I was a different person: leaner, stronger, and determined to further my scouting career.
I narrowly lost my run for Senior Patrol Leader to the golden child of a Nazi scout leader who groomed his son for success from the cradle. He led admirably, and then he went on to West Point. He'll probably be a member of Congress or something. I was never cut out to lead the troop, not with a guy like him around.
I regret not going on more high adventure trips, did you do any of that aside from Philmont? What trail number did you take there? I think we were around 30, which was very tough. -
