So Naive..lololol.
China just slapped a new Security law on Hong Kong, so yeah they do, simply because the system so far has been 1 country 2 systems...doesn't mean the ONE COUNTRY cant change that situation at will...they just did with the security law.
...you don't think if 40% of the Hong Kong population were about to wave bye they wouldn't stop that...

No they didn't. Again, China cannot pass laws in Hong Kong. This is why they had to infiltrate their politicians like they tried to do to Taiwan. -

Yes, they can..they just did again with the security law
It's 1 country...Taiwan isn't internationally agreed upon as a legit part of china...hence why they can't just go stormtrooping into it...Hong Kong however was HANDED BACK to the Chinese...totally different.

2020-07-01 at 7:53 PM UTC"Hong Kong’s status as one of the world’s most prominent financial hubs appears to be under threat.
Beijing has unanimously passed a new national security law for the ***territory, which some experts warn has the potential to erode the very structures that grant the region major privileges on the international stage.
The legislation bans sedition, secession and treason against China, crimes that can mean life in prison."
40% of the population fucking off to another country would easily qualify as treason.
China are not going to sit by and watch that happen...lol -

One thing that's really hindering your understanding of reality is you take everything at face value. In the 1930s you'd be saying stuff like "Akshually Manchukuo is an independent state!". In the 1970s your hot take would be "as a republic of the USSR, Belarus can pass whatever laws it likes".
(Look these things up. Ah who am I kidding you can't read this far, hence why you get your entire world view from CNN sound bites). -

International law has nothing to do with it. If China attempted to go storm trooping into Taiwan, international law wouldn't do shit. What would stop it is the military of an unrecognized government (Taiwan), and a UN security council member acting unilaterally (the US). -
