What do you think?

Went to a computer store got to try out some laptops and mechanical keyboards. I really like the loud green switches but I decided to go with a cheap $40 mouse/keyboard combo. Holding down the right MB doesn't work for me and my keyboard is like 9" right now so its time for an upgrade

I still use a mouse I took from high school and a keyboard I bought from Walmart for like $15

As in 'nine inches in width'? Like one of those little backup keyboards?

Anything beats 9", but your picture quality is horrible. They keyboard is back lit, right? I have to get a new keyboard as well.

I really like this keyboard and mouse. The wires are not like normal wires they are thick and not plastic, its like a heavy duty insulated material.

braided cable, usually listed as a feature if a peripheral has it

TT's not a bad brand, cheap but decent quality (though they do have some higher-end stuff as well)

are you looking for a new keyboard or just showing off the one you got?

Showing off this one because its the first keyboard I bought in many years. I'm also open to high end keyboards/mouse. The store I went to had it all on display including mechanical keyboards with backlight that had a color slider, really over the top, $200 mouses with 20 buttons on the side.

I really like those green switch keyboards better than the red ones, it just felt so nice. I would need to play games for 30 mins to really make an informed decision though. The Roccat mouses were very nice, there were these white ones with all kinds of fancy buttons.

I also need a new headset, I miss my old turtle beach ones.

Is it back lit? It doesn't look like it in the picture.

What are the edges of keys like? I've noticed some have sharp edges rather than smooth.

The edges are smooth. If the backlight wasn't on all you would see is the mouse and screen.

there's no real performance or ergonomic difference with mechanical keyboards, it's really just a matter of whether you like the feeling of feedback you get.

I kind of agree with lanny in regards to the switches; if you're not getting the clicky ones (green/blue) they don't really seem different enough from standard dome (head) keys to justify such a huge price jump

if you know what sort of keys you like, just go for a keyboard that you like the design of

The red ones just felt like a normal keyboard to me.
