For those of you overseas, BJs is a brand of ice cream by 2 guys in Vermont who make a bunch of ice cream combos which are pretty good but not like you can't get them from other companies if you look, and they are super duper hippie liberal eco conscious and like to put comedians on their containers to rev up those prices OP.

The ice cream is good, but it's like the Apple of ice cream; it's always a pretty good product with a unique quality to it, but it costs twice as much as it rightly should because you're paying for eco friendly production, B&J's social justice charities, comedians' likenessesp, the BJ logo aka the story of "Just 2 guys who opened a ice cream store in Vermont in the 70s hurr durr", and fair-trade dairy *Pfff*

I got a half off coupon for any ice cream for ice cream day, and I ALMOST bought some BJ lemon rasp sorbet, but then I thought, NAHHHH, I'm not gonna waste this opportunity to get Haagendaaz, which is the best ice cream imo, so I got a pint of strawberry, and it's wonderful. The only downside is that haagendaaz pints are actually only 14oz, but they are slightly cheaper to begin with.

I agree, believe it or not great value is a decent brand. I always rate it based on how it is when it melts. Bryers/dryers seems frothy and airy when melted, but great value seems milky and sweet, like not alot of filler. I think these big ice cream company try some new age money saving techniques that fill the ice cream with various....non milky dairy things.

    True story.

I remember one day I was used to bryers my whole life, and then all of a sudden I saw "dryers" and I thought wtf...have I been misreading this my whole life or what? Upon some research it was like the same company with similar name for east/west coast if I'm not mistaken.

it's here as well, expensive as fuck and not really any better than similarly priced 'gourmet' brands.

I mostly avoid it for the incessant HOMOEROTIC 'virtue' signalling

I worked at a huge ice cream plant, and we basically made a massive amount of the country's ice cream, in that we also made a bunch of different generic brands, possibly including walmart, I don't remember.

The generic ice cream IS often better than the name brand, if you look at the calories, (which you should always always do) generic brand often has quite a bit more per serving than the name brand, however that doesn't always make up for the loss of quality ingredients.

I tried Edys again a while ago as their frozen yogurt, and the yogurt was really really good, and the red velvet ice cream was also very nice despite their reputation as dropped in quality after slow churning implementation. Until somebody stole them and I got their ass kicked out over it
