Buspar is fucking amazing

Saw my doc again got the usual bullshit, the focalin, clonidine etc but this aint no dear diary bullshit.

Any time I've ever taken focalin its caused me immense anxiety, any more than 30mg xr or ir or like 60 insuff I always have the worst fucking panic attacks, and focalin is notorious for being one of the cleanest stims but has the worst fucking comedown, because it has sigma receptor action and its pretty much coke, cokealin, focacaine, etc etc

but since buspar is a 5ht1a agonist it mediates some action on dopamine receptors, lowering certain levels of dopamine, or increasing in the case of an antipsychotic/amphetamine mix but since focalin is an NDRI the anxiolytic action on serotonin partial agonism on a few fronts, also the fact that I have mmda in my system from 9grams of nutmeg this morning.

But anyone that cant get their hands on benzos and actually want anxiety relief without the clusterfuck of benzo addiction and sedation, just relief of anxiety try buspar.

Sure, if you're interested in experiencing brain zaps. That drug is fucking terrible. I'd recommend damn diphenhydramine for anxiety wayyyy before fucking buspirone. Maybe if you want uber annoying drowsiness and to feel like an electric shock just jolted your brain every couple minutes.

That's why you take 50-100 mg for sedative and anxiolytic effects. Deliriant doses are many times that. Great way to chillax before bed and then knock out easy.

Buspar is good for inducing headaches/migraines and not much else. No amount of half assed scientific reasoning is going to change the fact that it is a drug which exists for the sole purpose of giving doctors an "anxiety medication" to prescribe to suspected abusers and known addicts.

if you want to relive anxiety, get incarnated as a glutamate molecule. feels bad man

5ht1a agonism is proven to affect anxiety in some other way other than benzo/gaba mechanism so its not for PANICS or breakthrough anxiety it has to build up

it has migraine side effects because serotonergic activity can cause migraines, while triptans that act on other serotonin receptors get rid of them. tis confusing but it works for somethijng

Several studies have shown the administration of buspirone can improve spatial learning and memory function following a traumatic brain injury.[44][45] New research is being conducted to test the antagonist properties of buspirone at both D3 and D4 receptors as a pharmacological treatment for cocaine dependence.[34][46][47] In a 2007 study conducted on rats, buspirone showed a complete remission of haloperidol-induced tardive vacuous chewing symptoms when coadministered for five weeks.[48] Positive results for the treatment of depression when buspirone was combined with melatonin has been shown. It is suspected that the method of action differs from SSRI medications. Preliminary research suggests that the combination of buspirone and melatonin stimulates the growth of new neurons in the brain, also known as neurogenesis.[49][50][51]

Well goddamn I just got prescribed this today. I hate reading negative reviews, but there's a bunch of great reviews too. It always puts me in a quandary but I guess if it isn't gonna immediately kill me it's worth a shot.

If I had to do an antidepressant I would probably ask for Buspar. My doctor's student suggetsed that, and I trust her judgement.

Doctor learned about my OD and had to tell him that I lied and abused the pharmaceutical speedballs he prescribed me for years. It went pretty well, he didn't say anything.

Sometimes I wonder if he's on beznos or opis. He kinda slurrs his speech, but he's very knowledgable on pharmacology.

Anyway, I don't trust anitdepressants as a rule. They cost money, don't work, cause side effects, and have withdrawals.

Well it's not an anti depressant really, right? Like it has some minor properties but it's an anxiolytic. My doctor was comparing to say Prozac (which I said the other day I was gonna ask for again and I did and he was reluctant to do it lest I get manic). Like how ssri will increase serotonin levels but this one attaches to serotonin receptors and blah blah I don't know all this fancy shit you guys do but he seemed all excited about it like DUDE MQ I think this could work really well for you.

Yeah, it's anxiolytic mainly, I forgot. It's serotonergic but it's fairly new and they don't really kniw how it works, which makes it much more attractive to me. Same with lithium. They know it works because it WORKS, not because they invented it to work a certain way they WANT it to work. Which usually doesn't work.

I mean I guess at the end of the day that's the whole concept behind them is they work for some obviously and are hell for others hence the spectrum of positive to negative reviews. But LSD said fucking MIND ZAPS every few minute and I don't know what the hell that even means but it sounds scary. It also sounds intriguing. Maybe I get off on mind zaps.

I got em from paxil withdrawal and I'd only taken it for a month. It doesn't hurt or make you sick, but it's a bit disorienting for a couple seconds whenever you look to the side. It's not a good time.

Difference with respect to benzos or baseline?

It's always seemed like the drug you get stuck with when the doctor didn't want to give you benzos to me.

Relative to my baseline anxiety, and that is exactly my situation.
