Upgrading my 486 computer with compact flash?

2021-05-09 at 3:51 PM UTCFrom what I have learned watching LGR videos is that while his 486 only recognizes up to 2gb, you can make multiple partions.
Basically I can get an 8gb compact flash card and make 4, 2gb partions. -
2021-05-13 at 5:52 PM UTCBetter to use an SDcard these days. compact flash are more expensive and as I recall are slower/lower life expectancy than newer SD cards. I'm using SDcards in several of my old computers (Amiga for example) and they work a treat.

I have done a decent amount of research and a lot of other people used compact flash and have wrote about it giving me troubleshooting material if I run into any problems. On the other hand, I do not see very much out there for sd card readers compatible with an old 486 machine or adapters that will go with the look of my build. -

There are plenty of IDE to SD card adapters out there...as a nigger said It's what I primarily use in my old computers and devices of which I have dozens.
Long term SD card is the better solution as Compact flash is obsolete (and has less read/write capability. BUT THE CHOICE IS YOURS OF COURSE...

More parts = more problems and this is an old computer using old hardware and software and it won't even plug into my fucking wall because I didn't think about the fact Russians use 220 and USA uses 110.
Anyways, CF is what I see the most helpful links for.
Also, I really want this to look period even if I am cheating a little.
That being said I plan on getting the following 3D Printed to hold the CF to IDE adapter in one of the 2.5 inch floppy bays.

I haven't even gotten it yet. My 486 is still at some post office in Russia.
I won't have it for a couple of months as it is being shipped in a truck.
I haven't looked up if Russian motherboards need 220 power or if it is just the power supply and then the power supply's output power is the same whether its input is 110 or 220.
Maybe I am over thinking this but I really dont want anything to go pop for any reason.
I may invest in a step up transformer. I see them on Amazon for fairly cheap and I can get an industrial looking one just to tie the room together. -

No PC motherboard takes 110 or 220 volt...the PSU does...it feeds the Motherboard with 3.3v 5v 12v (and/or combinations thereof) -
