What am I doing wrong with my VGA splitter?

   A very trusted source said "It won't just be 2 duplicate screens."
   I went to graphics settings and clicked on the "multiple displays" tab but anywhere that gives you an option only give me 1 option which is 1 screen.
   
   Im trying to multitask.

   ^ this, a splitter just splits, it doesn't' get recognized as two outputs.
